Marrowfat Peas
Marrowfat peas are mature peas that have been allowed to dry out naturally in the field prior to harvest. They are traditionally starchy, large seeded varieties which are characteristically green in colour and have wrinkly skins. Marrowfat peas have a slightly sweeter taste than other types of pea and they are generally used to make Mushy Peas.
Our Marrowfat Peas are available in 10kg, 12.5kg, 25kg, and 1MT pack sizes
Polished Split Peas
Polished Split peas are made from mature peas that have been allowed to dry out naturally in the field. During processing, the pea skins are removed from the peas and the peas are then split in half. The split peas are polished which improves the general appearance and makes the product more attractive when packed into small retail packs. Split peas have a faster cooking time and a smoother texture when cooked than whole peas.
Split peas are frequently used in soup manufacture or as an ingredient in ready meals, Indian Dahl’s and Pease Pudding.
Our split peas come in two varieties:
- Polished Green Split Peas
- Polished Yellow Split peas
Green and Yellow Split Peas are available in 25kg and 1MT pack sizes
Cleaned Whole Peas
Whole peas are (also) manufactured from mature peas that have been allowed to dry out naturally in the field.
Our cleaned whole peas come in two varieties:
- Cleaned Whole Green Peas
- Cleaned Whole Yellow Peas
Whole Peas are sometimes used as a substitute for fresh / frozen garden peas as they are often canned and sold as Processed Peas. They are also used as ingredients in soups and ready meals.
Cleaned Whole Peas are available in 25kg and 1MT pack sizes.
